Workamajig, the curiously named worldwide leader in integrated software for ad agencies and others in the creative and design industries, held its Workology 4.0 Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, from March 30 through April 2, 2014.
“The name ‘Workamajig’ represents our brand philosophy perfectly,” said Ron Ause, Workamajig’s director of marketing. “It is the juxtaposition of work, efficiency and practical solutions with the unique creativity and fun of the creative industry. Workology 4.0 was a natural outgrowth of this philosophy.” He said the purpose of the conference was for clients to “gather, gain knowledge and grow their business.”
Set at the beautiful Arizona Grand Resort and Spa, Workology 4.0 provided participants with three days of learning and training from industry experts. Great food, a beautiful resort and plenty of entertainment were also on the agenda. The wide variety of topics included project management, project communications, finance management, CRM and industry best practices. Although the Workamajig software system itself was naturally a focus of the conference, Workology 4.0 also featured a number of industry experts and Workamajig clients as guest speakers sharing personal expertise and creative know-how with attendees.
Vanessa Edwards, CEO and founder of Creative Performance Inc., a creative industry consulting firm, covered the topic of project management.
Leigh Shannon, a Workamajig client since 2010, shared her personal experiences and advice in her presentation, “Project Management from a Client’s Real-World Perspective.”
Susan Moore, an expert on media applications, co-chaired a session with Greg Geiger on the “Introduction of New Media.”
Blair Enns, founder of the Win Without Pitching movement, shared his insights on client relationship management.
Tony Mikes, managing director of Second Wind, imparted invaluable advice on the topic of financial management, gleaned from his decades of experience in the advertising agency world.
Justin Finnegan, a Workamajig client since 2010, spoke about “Accounting from a Client’s Real-World Perspective.”
In addition, guests of Workology heard from a number of Workamajig leaders and staff members on a wide range of topics, including project management, the new Workamajig user interface, project communications and collaboration and financial management, among many others.
