Challenges:

Trying to manage resources without knowing precise availability.

As a resource manager, Austin used to struggle to maintain an efficient resourcing system. Lacking the necessary tools, he had no straightforward method of knowing who to assign what task, or even what tasks needed to be done in the first place. This also affected client communication because without having a fall proof schedule, clients couldn’t be accurately notified about when their project would be ready.

SOLUTION:

Using Workamajig’s dashboards and reporting capabilities to quickly and accurately allocate resources.

My name is Austin Crum, I'm the post-production supervisor with Red Productions in Fort Worth Texas.

Red Productions is a full-service video production company that has been with Workamajig since about 2019. We have about 15 employees and we've been in business for about 15 years.
As the post-production supervisor my primary responsibilities include traffic management with my department so I'm assigning tasks and schedules to the people in my department. I say that my job is to help everyone else do their job more easily. 

One of my most challenging tasks as the post-production supervisor is scheduling. I want to be able to see at a glance what scheduling needs we have approaching and to be able to accurately estimate for our clients what our availability is.

Workamajig has really helped solve my challenges by giving me a suite of interfaces that I can use to build different dashboards to view all of my data at a high level and to be able to go through and have that data analysis perspective where I can see where we're being overworked or underworked and to be able to balance our workflows.
 
I really like the resource assignment features of Workmajig that give me an overview of the assignments that I need to give to my employees per project. It's great for me to be able to see what needs to be done and to be able to see who's able to do those tasks to give me a better idea of who's available from a schedule perspective and to be able to get that project through the pipeline in a more efficient way.

From an operational perspective, Workamajig helps us be more efficient because it shows us where our inefficiencies lie so we can derive reports and we can see from a data perspective. We have data points that show us exactly where in our workflow we're able to improve and so that's one area where we're really digging in right now to see how we can improve our workflow on the platform.
